This was sent to me by a 14-year-old wildling from the cabin; one many she’s sent me over the years, but this one felt worth sharing.

A bee flew into an ice cream van, tumbled out, and landed in the road. A tiny life in the path of tyres, busy schedules, and people who had places to be.

The wildling dropped her ice cream.

She stopped cars.

She ignored the laughter.

She paid no mind to the boy who shouted, “It’s just a bee!”

She refused to let the world rush past until that little creature was safely in her hands and on its way to a flower.

Because it is not just a bee.

Bees pollinate our food. They sustain wildflowers. They help hold entire ecosystems together. Yet many are struggling, and countless are lost every day simply because nobody notices them.

Most of us cannot change the whole world. But we can change the outcome for the life directly in front of us.

We can stop.

We can look down.

We can care.

We can teach our children that strength is not found in dominance, but in protecting the vulnerable.

The wildling from the cabin understands something many adults have forgotten: every creature is trying to live. Every life has value. And kindness costs very little.

So next time you see a bee exhausted on a pavement, stranded in a road, or struggling where danger outweighs its chances, take a moment.

Help it to safety.

Plant flowers.

Leave water out.

Teach others to do the same.

The world doesn’t become better through grand gestures alone. It becomes better through thousands of small acts of care, carried out by people willing to stop when everyone else keeps walking.

Be more wildling. ❤️🐝🌿
